Hi, I'm Dee.
I write because I have to put things somewhere. Most of what's on this site started as a note on my phone at an hour I shouldn't have been awake — a line I needed out of my body before I could sleep.
A lot of my writing circles the same few things: stillness, the nervous system, water, the difference between reacting and choosing. I'm learning that pause is a skill, not a personality trait. Some days I'm good at it. Some days the tide wins.
I'm drawn to the plain and the simple — trees, ducks on a pond, light on a wall. Beauty that doesn't ask you to work for it. If a poem here makes you slow down for thirty seconds, that's the whole point.
This site is less a portfolio and more a room. The finished poems are on the shelf, the half-thoughts are taped to the wall, and the moodboard is what I'd show you if you asked what's in my head this month.
Thanks for wandering in.
