Revealing too much too soon
Hangs over you like a warning,
and it shows me you're diving headfirst
into doom.
It tells me that the ink of your boundaries has been smudged,
That you too easily trust
before testing out the waters,
That you wear your heart on your sleeve,
and you're too comfortable
placing it in the hands
of those who have not earned you
Whether it's romantic or strictly platonic,
You give your love away too fast,
Without checking if it's built to last,
Without knowing if they even deserve the right,
to hold your rawest history
or even relish in your light.
When you bare your soul at the start
You risk losing the most sacred pieces of your heart.
Opening up the doors for your story
to be used as a weapon against you.
For them to turn your vulnerability into
their own reverse uno card of word-play
Meanwhile,
they have no real intention to stay.
So,
if you're going to give yourself away,
If you want to truly bloom,
You have to learn the power of discernment,
and being in-tune
with you
