Empty Pages

June 2026

My hands are so used to

carrying heavy loads,

Somewhere along the way

I forgot that I’m not too heavy to hold

Theres a very specific kind of grace

in meeting a person

who just feels like a deep breath

An exhale of fresh air

I don’t know everything God

is writing into this season,

but I know

He placed you here to show me

what ease feels like.

What it means to be held

without having to ask,

and to feel safe enough

to finally drop my shoulders….

To unclench my jaw.

To just relax.

To live in the moment.

I'm not trying to fast-forward

to the end of a story still being written

Chapter one contained a fine print

with your name imprinted,

and I’m just happy that my eyes

were open enough to spot it.

Something like a prologue,

I know a good novel when I see one

Except this one isn’t fiction,

It’s live action happening

in the forefront

We have plenty of empty pages

still patiently being filled out

And just like the empty pages

in that book

I’m still feeling you out

But there lies a big difference…

no writers block is present

this time,

Im allowing the spaces to be filled

with words straight from the heart

Trusting in God to take the wheel as I

test drive my discernment

and share my art.

The best books take time

and this isn’t a script,

Not just another storyline in tales

waiting to be told.

I’ve stalled on the empty pages,

time and time again

Only to put the pen down

anticipating heavy endings.

This time it’s different,

I’m okay without writing the plot

before I’ve lived it.

Many chapters will come,

some probably out of the blue.

To simply put it our story is

…..to be continued.

My heart sung a song,

and with that melody the realization

was that

this is only the beginning of

what can be beautiful.
