Today I Hugged a Tree

June 2025

Today I hugged a tree,

dug my feet deeply into the soil,

grounded myself in the rhythm

of the earth that lied beneath me.

I listened,

as the wind glided through the air,

and as its whisper softened the silence.

The sounds of the air brings an inner calm.

The ducks dancing in the water brings peace,

so simple,

yet so divine.

How sounds of the nature

reinforces the power of stillness

and being present with yourself

inside.

It's quite amazing

how the elements of the earth

carry so much reflective energy.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Well,

may my eyes always

rise with the sun,

may they always soar

through the heights of the world

always remembering

that beauty doesn't require complexity.

Beauty is all around us,

plain and simple.

I sit still,

I wander without moving,

and the revelation is to just be

present with my surroundings.
